Comfort Suites Cicero - Syracuse North
The ChallengeTo optimize Comfort Suite's lighting on the exterior of the facility and the common corridors with increased uniformity while reducing overall energy use. Security was also a top priority when considering new lighting to cover their existing landscape.
The SolutionFor hotels and motels, it is essential to provide high quality lighting for both the safety of guests and commercial appeal. At the same time operational costs must be taken into consideration. To meet these needs, BlueRock Energy Services recommended upgrading existing 400W metal halide lamps used to light the parking area with 150W LED replacement fixtures. 150W metal halide fixtures on the property’s access road would be replaced with 75W LED shoebox fixtures. Additionally, common corridors on the 2nd and 3rd floor were upgraded to surface mounted LED fixtures that were both energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing.
The ResultsUpgrading Comfort Suites' lighting has translated into a significant savings realized on their utility bill. In the 3 months immediately following the installation, Comfort Suites overall electricity use was reduced by 18%, and the project is on pace to pay for itself in less than 2 years. The enhanced spread of illumination provided Comfort Suite’s ownership with the peace of mind of knowing that customers are now safer from potential crime or personal injury.
